DIY:Cute reception ideas

I was looking through a few old tabs of my google notebook. And I found some really cute ideas that I had forgotten about!! Take a look!

You could totally make that pomander ball yourself and the hooks wouldn't be to expensive.

wine-bo.jpg

This would be a little harder to do but still manageable!!

Totally cheap! You could buy vintage glasses at any thrift market

This would be about a three dollar project! You can get corks at any bar/restaurant just ask the bartender/manager. It is also a great way to help recycle, just like the empty wine bottles.

We're trying to save money and be as green as we can. So I hope these help some how!!

KOHLS! How I love thee!

We have started our registry!

Well I started it but it's pretty exciting!!! We even went to the store one night before a movie! And looked around I can not wait to go to the store and use the scan gun!! I've already put some things on it online, but more than likely I'll take them off and just use the gun!!!! yay!!!

My advice is make a list of what you and your husband will need when you move in together it helps a lot! But also seeing cuter versions of what you already have and scanning it is no big deal!

For example:

Food+Network+Cookie+Sheet.jsp.jpg

you see this really amazing stone ware cookie sheet but you already have this

insulatedcookiesheet.jpg

it's okay to get the amazinger one!!! lol

I'm pretty sure next Saturday will be our SCANNER GUN DAY!!!

But I have some sad news. Our invites haven't arrived yet. For some reason they didn't believe I wanted to buy the colors I had chosen. Seriously I quadruple checked to make sure I had everything right. What kind of crazy people don't do that?!?? So I'm really hoping they show up today!!! We have got to get them sent off!!! I'm not going to lie I am a little freaked out. We've got like four months to get everything tied together. I would love to go and get inks and all of that but Joshua took the car so he could go work on his Honda at his parents. He is very helpful and supportive and thank God I have him!

Quiet Post

I don't have much to say today.

We just got home from a funeral. Joshua great aunt passed away, but its a good thing, she's not suffering anymore. I didn't know the woman but seeing everyone cry, and how loved she was, and seeing his grama cry, I almost lost it.

At the grave site, after all the nice words were said everyone began to look at all the head stones. And we found the oldest one, he was born 1795 and died 1865. There was a poem on his headstone, that I (now) want on mine!! here's how it goes:

Remember me as you pass by
For as you are so once was I
As I am so you shall be
Propose for death and follow me

Its so sad all of the old fallen down stones, no one comes to visit and they aren't remembered by any family.

Especially the children.

Huge Thanks so Miss Pretzel

Whom I'm pretty sure won't ready this! But THANKS SO MUCH! And here's why she helped me to find our silver wear!

I was first horribly inspired by this:

SO, I went out and bought these:

(Sellers pictures)

10$ for 22pieces. Not bad! Especially since they are from Italy and England. And they are really cute! And all are vintage/antique! The real thing haha! But then I stumble upon this post and was like "WOW!"

(it of course added to all of these)

Here's why: I had seen bamboo cutlery and thought it was a really good eco and environmental idea. But splinters were the second idea. Actually it was there less then a second later. But if wooden cutlery is becoming a hit then obviously people are not getting splinters! :D Plus they are a lot cheaper then the first thought.

Here are the fruits of a small research:

HERE they have bamboo utensils 15.99 per 100(meaning forks, spoons, knives individually) equaling out to about .16 cents a piece.

HERE they have white birch utensils on sale for 5.90 per 100(just like before individually...)

I'm going to have to do a lil more research...

Putting a line on the Paper

This post is pretty much all about

The Invites!

That is right, those bad boys are in the mail as we speak! and should be here either thursday or friday! I am so excited about showing you the finished products! and all the fun we will have and the mess that will be made!

It took me about two hours to figure out just what colors to use, first it was cream puff then it was cotton candy and we finished with mauve! I know I need to pick things and stick with them, well as of this morning. I did.
Why?
Because as of this morning I spent money on quite a bit of paper that I can now not change the color of... Unless I can find a fairy godmother really soon!

Fairy-Godmother-cinderella-1974437-250-212.jpg

A cute jolly one like this would be great so that I could have a lil of this

fairygodmother.jpg

and this:

fairy godmother.jpg

Actually I"m pretty happy with the way things have turned out so far! I know we don't have much done but hey! What we've got is pretty good!

Here is part of the mess I made

Here is my list(the fourth or sixth one I made) and my wedding pencil!! haha It's pretty much the only one I've been using so it has been dubbed such!

This part wasn't entirely me. The dogs helped!

Aww my late night snack! I devoured that puppy in about two minutes.

This is roxy, she is a new puppy in our household! Here she was giving me quite a lot of affection when all I wanted was a picture

And this is the man that had to go through this with me.

And here are the two lucky dogs that helped my make my mess what it was!The small one is ours, Abby, and the big one is Roxy, our roommate/cousins. She's very ornery so she'll be put out side when we do the putting assembly line!

I can't wait for them to be here!!!

CreamPuff or Cream?

That is what I asked of my dear husband.
His response: "what's the difference?"
Isn't it so interesting how different men and woman are. The verdict though is CreamPuff! I decided to get what we can from both hobby lobby and Cards&Pockets. But the rehearsal invites and the thank you cards will be hand made from scratch. Which is really exciting. What's even more exciting is that we only need to order/make 35 invites. I'm ordering/making about 11 extra incase of mess ups.

Now we need to get the tools for cutting these bad boys for our center pieces. And NO we did not drink any of this. The power of freecycle is fun. And craigslist, and yardsales and thrift stores! Saving money is so fun! Especially when the thing that you buy are vintage-y and unique. You don't have to worry about ruining anything because it didn't cost you 50dollars more than it was worth.
(I had Josh take these pictures for me!)

Did I mention we're moving to colorado?!?!

Yes sir-ie!! and I have just fallen in love with SNOW GOGGLES especially all these beauties from Zeal Optics!

DEFAULT.jpg

DEFAULT.jpg

DEFAULT.jpg these last ones are regular sunglasses just for women, but all the others are unisex! aren't they amazing. I am SO learning how to snow board, did I already say that??

snowboard-02.jpeg

this will be me in oh lets be generous and say a year! :) If I could show you how excited I am, it would be like a big yellow fluffy ball that bounces around all the time and smells like sunshine. I really couldn't think of any really excited smells so that's all I got..

Anyways I've been going crazy trying find the invites I am wanting. And thank GOD for weddingbee because I found exactly what I wanted.

I really like the pocket wedding invitations but I liked the side ways ones:

0879_1.GIF.gif

more than these

MargotTim Pocketfold.jpg

Don't get me wrong they are both really cute!

Now the only problem, is absolutely and completely DIY them or buy them and semi DIY them! There's Cards & Pockets where you can buy all the elements you need and put it together/perfect it. And there's the HobbyLobby/Micheals and all those other craft stores.

So if I go through Hobby lobby the cardstock will be about 8cents a sheet, but it's not long enough.. So I am going to be ordering almost everything from Cards and Pockets. I've just got to wait for Josh to get home to help me pick everything out!

Babies Breath

Just another reason to use babies breath, it's so beautiful!

babys-breath-wedding-centerpieces5.jpg

babys-breath-wedding-cake-table2.jpg I'm not sure If I already posted this picture. But isn't it gorgeous, still?? add a little babies breath....wait I have even more beautiful ones.

mld103117_0208_posie_l.jpg mld103117_0208_heart_l.jpg

Aww Martha Stewart how I have a love/hate relationship with you. But seriously these last two photos are going to be the guidelines for my bouquets and all the other flowers...and lots of babies breath.

Well it looks like My Man is definitely on the way to becoming a policeman. He was recently fired from his job, which is now pushing him to achieve his goal. I was worried at first, not about money just about him, but he's fine, he's so much happier than he was before. Which of course makes me happy. SO So SO very happy. Really this is all I've got to say right now, honestly because we are watching Law Abiding Citizen.

How about an email to wake you up...

I nonchalantly go to look at my email and the big ugly truth was just waiting there staring me in the face with it's evil truth eyes screaming at me to no longer procrastinate!

Wanna no what it evily said.... "FOUR MONTHS TO GO"

Yeah that was the evil truthful message I received today... and now I will eat breath and sleep nothing but wedding ...
and moving which we are!! To Colorado by the way! I am pretty darn excited!

But back to the more pressing event.

I do think that I have found a bridesmaids. She's an old friend from highschool we used to be best friends so you know!

Ugh I can not stop thinking about all the stuff we've got left to do and I am going crazy. I've got to find a dry cleaner to clean my moms dress and I've got to find a seamstress. I've got to get plates and all that and I've got to make invites! screw the save the dates...

yea I'm freaking out.

From speeder to ticket writer.

search.jpg

I don't think you understand how happy I am right now. My husband has finally come to peace with what he wants to do for a living. He wants to be a cop and then possibly more than likely a swat member. It is very amazing. I am so proud of him. He kinda has a body/face of a cop. I"m just having trouble getting him to run when we go work out and cops do a lot of running ya know!?

HotCop.jpg this is what he wants to look like...

what he looks like now...

and here is a funny of him...

I love this crazy demented man of mine. Anyways, i'm proud of him.

And we have our officiant! An uncle! Who is a preacher! Yay! We asked him Sunday and he of course said yes. I love family. I really do. Dear sweet free family! ha ha Well its getting late I'm going to contemplate this policeman-husband thing and this wedding thing....hmmm

SAINTS!SAINTS!SAINTS!

So, if you didn't here...

The New Orleans Saints won the SuperBowl!!

That's fo shoore. We supported them at first because they are the underdog....but now we are pretty much fans for life...what can I say...I like all the shiny new orleans colors! haha Anyways that was a great game! My man became very excited! and competitive it was cute!

nfl-rams-super_bowl_xxxvi_faulk-marshall-28-white-2002-stockpic1.jpg

Yes. they deserve a big picture!! haha who knows we might even have some Saints stuff at the wedding.

By the way did ya'll see that interception?!?! BE-A-UTIFUL!!

And now we are watching the undercover boss show, and it's actually pretty good. Any who lets do some wedding talk....Actually now I'm trying to think of ways to incorporate the Saints emblem in our wedding some how...I mean they are gold right? lol

cuff links?

35-73988-P.jpg

little emblems on the wine bottle?

NewOrleansSaints.gif

a cake??

saints_field.29223656_large.jpgNew_Orleans_Saints.jpg

lol just kidding! Josh is demanding the cufflinks now! so I guess that will be part of it! I do still like the little emblem on the wine bottle table numbers.

I think I found a few dresses I like for the BMs which I will have to send to the MOH...see what she thinks...

j41.jpg I prefer the yellow strapless one,but the back of that grey dress is really cute!

j31.jpg I know they aren't my color but they are cute! Only problem...finding a maternity BM dress! Yep one of my BMs is expecting! and the exciting part is the she's due about a week after my birthday! She and I aren't really close but I am really hoping to hang out some more and all that before Josh and I move!

I think I've already told you that I am using my moms wedding dress instead of the one that we had bought about a year ago for a wedding that was supposed to happen in November. Well we decided that we wouldn't be doing that and we would try to sell the dress. Well the dress has not been sold and I doubt it will so! We are going to alter it and I will probably use it as a reception dress!

here are just two pictures. They are the only ones I have right now but of course later I will beable to show you more! I'm not entirely sure what to do with it. Maybe make it shorter add a large-ish flower on the hip....we'll see. don't worry I'll make it beautiful! OH! I'm even thinking about dyeing the crioline!

how about this one!
